About me:
Brent Cobb was born in the beautiful small college town of Americus, Georgia. He was born the son of a southern man and a northern lady, who both received their love of music from their ancestors. This combined heritage helped fuse within Brent’s soul the desire to evolve music and to appreciate the many gifts given in his life. At the early age of two and one half years old, in his Sunday school classroom, the teacher beckoned for the parents of the youngsters’ to come and pick up the children for church and before going into the sanctuary they must stay and be entertained by Brent Cobb! There all the parents stood, certain the precious song, "Jesus loves me," would be forthcoming... There, on top of the small preschool table, stood little Brent singing his heart out, the very old legendary song written by Hank Sr., "There's a tear in my beer and I am crying for you dear, you are on my lonesome mind". In addition, too his delight the crowd applauded! Can you envision the extremely puffed out proud chests of the toddler's parents! At two and a half, their son knew every single word of that acclaimed country ballad! He was going to be the next Hank Sr! Brent’s parents had to try to explain to their little boy that the song he chose may not have been appropriate for church. Nevertheless, that did not stop Brent, if anything he knew he had embarked on his future “calling” at this tender young age. Brent has been influenced by different genre’s of music his entire life. From his great grandparents, great aunts, great uncles, mother, father, uncles, cousins, aunts, most of Brent’s family has performed in one area or another in the musical realm. For Brent Cobb there is no escaping from penning lyrical narrative, melodically pursuing the crowd and continuing to be ones own worst critic. The deep musical family bloodline that continues to run down through generations has given light to the old saying, “an old soul in a young mans body”. This a statement he has heard many times over his young life.
